Visitor Visas

This visa allows you to travel to Australia for a holiday, visit family and friends, or for short-term business activities.

Visitor visa (subclass 600)

  • You can visit Australia for a period of up to 12 months.
  • You must have a genuine intention to visit Australia as a tourist or visit family members.
  • You must meet the health requirement and demonstrate sufficient funds for the duration of the visit to Australia.

Work and Holiday visa (subclass 462)

This visa is a temporary visa that encourages cultural exchange and closer ties between Australia and eligible partner countries.

  • It is for young people between 18 and 30 years old who want to holiday and work in Australia for up to a year.
  • You can study for up to four months.
  • You can only work for six months with one employer.
  • If you do three months of specified subclass 462 work, you can be eligible for a second Work and Holiday visa.

Working Holiday visa (subclass 417)

This visa allows people 18 to 30 years old holding a passport from an eligible country or Canadian, French and Irish citizens 18 to 35 years old to have their first extended holiday in Australia and work here to help fund their trip.

  • You can study for up to four months.
  • You can only work for the same employer for six months.
  • If you have completed three months of specified work, you can be eligible for a second Working Holiday visa
